Copywriting, content creation & strategy for a B2B tech supplier

About this work

I was employed by Startle - a leading background music and digital signage provider to retail and hospitality - for almost 10 years. I began as the solo marketer and left as Chief Marketing Officer, managing a team and various agencies. During this time I was responsible for anything and everything from marketing and brand strategy to paid ads and content creation.

Here are a couple of examples of my content marketing work for Startle, which involved everything from campaign planning, copywriting, and promotion via email, social media, paid ads and events.

Hospitality whitepaper

To help inform our brand positioning, we commissioned an agency to conduct market research on our customers and their views on the use of music in hospitality venues. Using the findings, I structured and wrote a whitepaper that was used as a lead generation tool and a hand-out at events.

Ad Concept & Creation

When the 2024 EUROs were coming up, we wanted to capture the attention of senior managers at pub and bar companies to promote our sport entertainment service, Startle Arena. Naturally, LinkedIn was chosen as the main platform to advertise. With a strong understanding of the product and target audience, I managed a campaign from concept to launch, including copywriting and creative direction of the ads.

This work involved:
