Structure of the Day

Looking at your competitors - their USPs, how they position their brand to customers, and what is/isn’t working well for them, and your customers - who they are, what they’re looking for, and their purchasing behaviour, as well as other external factors.

We’ll divide customers into useful, distinct groups, based on their behaviour and similarities. The next stage is choosing who to target; a key part of any marketing strategy to ensure you are not shooting in the dark or spreading yourself too thin by trying to be everything to everyone.

Here, we’ll distil your brand and what it means for customers into a simple positioning. This will outline the space you occupy in their minds - or put simply, how you want them to think of your brand.

Identifying the area(s) that need the most improvement and/or will have the most impact, and setting a small number of specific objectives to drive your marketing activity.

This stage will look at everything involved in your product that offers value to customers, whether your pricing is right, and how customers will find you. Finally, we’ll build an outline for a promotional plan that includes the most effective marketing channels for you to use, from email and social media to events or sponsorships.

With 10 years of marketing experience at a fantastic tech business, I grew from being the sole marketer to managing an internal team and various creative and technical agencies. Seeing the company through from its early startup days to becoming a multimillion pound business, I have invaluable experience in many areas of marketing.
Over the past few years I’ve studied with Oxford College of Marketing to gain the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). And recently, I completed MBA level courses in both Marketing and Brand Management with MiniMBA.
I’m passionate about helping small businesses to grow and discover more about themselves, and I live and breathe marketing!
